dropline gnome test packages
www.dropline.net/gnome/testing/

please note that these are *testing* packages; they're working on my machines, but i've no idea what they may do to yours ;) install the packages in the order listed in the INSTALL-ORDER file and reboot. please let me know if anything breaks after the update. this is just a base system: pam, x, xml, etc. since everything else depends on these packages, i want to ensure they're stable before moving on to gnome proper.

I'd like to say that every distribution of Dropline Gnome i've used, there has been something wrong with libiconv, meaning i can't compile ANYTHING that depends on it.

would like to ad that, i think you should revert back to Freetype 2.1.5 also as 2.1.7 does not include ftheader.h (i believe), meaning its harder to compile things also

cheers

sry to bug you again, but i've figured out the libiconv error, to use LDFLAGS="-liconv" when compiling :)

libiconv has been ripped out of Dropline GNOME 2.6 and the standard GNU libc's iconv is being used instead--this should help most of your compile issues.

using #include <ftheader.h> is the wrong way to include freetype, and has been so for quite a while. most app authors just didn't know or care, but it created lots of problems when building freetype on different architectures. freetype-2.1.7 throws an error if an app includes <ftheader.h> directly in an attempt to get the app authors to fix their code, so any apps that won't compile under freetype-2.1.7 should have bug reports filed to their respective authors.
